The Fact Is - It's A Myth

Daily shampooing isn't good for my hair.

Dirt, perspiration and oil can deteriorate hair and even change its color. Gentle, daily shampooing assures clean, healthy hair and scalp by removing these harmful elements and stimulating the scalp. Be sure to use a shampoo for your water type.

Blow drying damages my hair.

Damage from a blow dryer only occurs after the hair is dry. The proper way to blow dry is to make sure you stop when your hair still has some moisture in it. It will feel cool to the touch. If the ends dry before the roots, mist them with a water bottle.

Pulling out grey hair causes more grey hair.

Pulling out grey hair only results in less hair, temporarily. Chances are another one will take its place and it too will be grey. If your grey hair becomes a concern, discuss it with a professional colorist. Ask for a consultation and learn all your options.

Hot oil treatments replace the oil in my hair.

Hair is chiefly composed of a protein called Keratin. The average hair is composed of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen; no oil. Any oil present on the hair comes from the Sebaceous glands in the scalp. It keeps the skin surface soft and supple, but oil on the hair only attracts dirt, dulling and weighing down the hair shaft.
