Tips by Robert Craig

I just colored my hair and don't like the result. How long do I have to wait before I recolor?

This is where you need to make an important decision. If you choose to recolor you may make it next to impossible for a professional colorist to correct the problem. If you choose to see a professional make sure they do corrective work. If you do decide to correct it at home, keep these tips in mind. Permanent color is not made to remove or lighten permanent color or demi-permanent color. There are products made to remove color and they should be used. Using a permanent color that contains ammonia and/or peroxide, to lighten permanent color will only increase the porousity of your hair and can cause further colorings to fade quickly and/or go dark. You can safely use Color by Robert Craig haircolor over permanent color to change the tone of your hair because it does not contain ammonia and/or peroxide. Proper corrections can be done the same day. Start with the safest, most gentle way to correct. A harsh shampoo can lighten color. Condition lots. Do lots of test strands.
